Splitrock isn't a program with a required project, application theme, or predetermined creative outcome.
It's a home designed around creative lives.
Residents rent their own private bedroom suite, studio, and storage while sharing thoughtfully designed living spaces with two other artists. The goal isn't to produce a particular body of work, it's to give you the space and environment to pursue the work and life you choose.
This is a place to live your full life, not just your artistic one.
Our artists might be in their studios every day of the week, or maybe they are weekend warriors — all are equally valid and important to provide space for. We know that not everyone fills their days the same way, so we provide a home base that nurtures the life you want to live.

For people who care.
Splitrock is designed for artists and creative professionals who care about their creative practice, their environment, their community, and living their life with intention.
You might be a sculptor, painter, photographer, designer, art director, consultant, or work somewhere else along the creative spectrum.
You are independent, but value connection. You take your work seriously, but don't take yourself too seriously. You appreciate thoughtful design, nature, good communication, and the opportunity to build something meaningful with the people around you.

The practical stuff
Three residents.
Because of local zoning restrictions, the rental side is limited to three individual residents.
No couples/families.
The residence is designed for individual residents and cannot accommodate partners, spouses, or children.
No pets.
Because the home includes shared living spaces, pets aren't currently permitted.
Anticipated Rent.
We're still finalizing the details of the residence, but we currently anticipate rent to be approximately $4,000/month per resident.
